Leading independent intellectual property law firm James & Wells is pleased to announce the appointment of Janelle Borham as a Partner in its Australian patents practice.

Janelle joins James & Wells after 25-years at Griffith Hack where she was a key principal in the Chemical and Life Sciences group. She joins Nick Mountford, a friend and former colleague at Griffith Hack, in James & Wells’ Melbourne office.

James & Wells managing partner, Tim Walden, says: “Janelle is a fantastic addition to the James & Wells, and we are all very excited to have her join our team. Her specialist knowledge in life sciences and chemistry supports our already strong client offering in this sector, and Janelle will be a great asset to the firm as we expand our footprint in the Australian market.”

Janelle’s technical specialisation is in the field of organic chemistry, and her expertise extends to food technology, polymer compositions and manufacturing (including elastomers), electrolytes/energy technology, organic photovoltaics, energy storage devices, chemical analytical instruments, ionic liquids, and pharmaceuticals. Janelle also has extensive experience with patent oppositions in Australia.

Janelle is the Immediate Past President of the Institute of Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) and currently serves on the IPTA council.
