James & Wells is pleased to welcome new partner, Adam Luxton to its growing Australian team. Based in Brisbane, Adam has been employed to spearhead the firm’s expansion in Australia, adding his extensive engineering and ICT expertise to the firm’s strong patent capabilities.
Adam joins the firm from one of Australia’s largest intellectual property firms, where he was a Principal.
Managing Partner, Tim Walden says, “We are fortunate to have Adam join the team and expand our Australian operations in such uncertain times. While other firms are consolidating, James & Wells is expanding its global presence, and remains dedicated to providing client focused, independent intellectual property services.”
With an extensive background in mining and software engineering, Adam is highly regarded in the fields of mining, energy, medical devices and consumer products. He works with large national and multinational companies, helping them with their intellectual property needs.
Adam has acted as the lead patent attorney in a number of Australian Federal Court patent matters and has been involved in many opposition matters before the Australian Patent Office. His impressive track record is evidenced by his recognition as an Australian IP Star in the MIP rankings for several years running.
Adam comments – “I’ve known several of the James & Wells partners for many years and have always admired from afar the culture of the firm and the successes they have achieved. I am very happy and proud to be part of the James & Wells story moving forward.”
